School was closed so Jen got a day off and we were snowed in. The whole area was cut off as all the mountain passes were closed. The snow has lasted with little thawing but we can easily get down the drive after a grader cleared the road and our neighbour helped with our drive. Here are some photo's. Click for slightly larger versions. 22 March 07 We spent 4 fabulous days in Sydney. We were there for the wedding of friends Pierre & Stephen. Friends from around the world gathered in Sydney for 4 days of fantastic food, great views, superb company and lots of champagne. The view above is from the apartment we stayed in at while in Sydney. We had the top floor apartment with million dollar views of the harbour bridge, opera house and the CBD. The apartment was right on the water front with a private jetty and close the ferry wharf. We fully recommend staying there if you are ever visiting Sydney. We arrived in Sydney at 8:30am on Thursday. We all got together for lunch at the famous Bondi restaurant Icebergs. Situated on the cliff over looking the beach, we had a great lunch with Pierre, Stephen, John, Suzie, Dave and Paula. On Friday, the day of the wedding, we shopped in the morning then got ready for the big event. We all started off with a 3 hour afternoon boat cruise around the harbour on the historic MV Bennelong. It was fabulous cruising around chatting, drinking champagne and eating canapés. The boat then dropped us all at Rose Bay for a short walk to the Pier Restaurant. Here we had more champagne and canapés followed by dinner and speeches. It was a fantastic wedding and we really enjoyed ourselves, as did all the people there. The next morning we breakfasted at a cafe in Blues Point with John, Suzie, Dave, Paula and wee Jaide. We then headed to The Rocks area where full St Patrick's Day celebrations were underway. That evening we went out to dinner with John and Suzie for, you guessed it....champagne and great company. I don't think we could have had a better time in Sydney and I'm sure we will always remember the trip. Below are some photos. Click on any photo for a larger view including the panorama above. February 07 We spent a fantastic afternoon sitting in the sun and dancing to NZ groups like Kora and Shapeshifter. Central Otago certainly has more than it's fair share of great music festivals!!
27 February 07 We have been busy over the last 2-3 weeks since the rail trail. Jen is back to school and Will is very busy working on "Secret Project". Unfortunately, we can't reveal too much about Secret Project, in fact we can't reveal anything, hence the title "Nothing to Discuss" All we can say is that it is hugely exciting with new developments happening all the time. We will let you know more when we can. In the mean time, we are off to a concert this weekend at the Peregrine Vineyard. All our favourite dance bands will be there like Shapeshifter, Kora and Recloose.
2-4 February 07 We have just cycled the Otago Central Rail Trail. We biked 150km in two and a half days through the fantastic Central Otago landscape. We stayed in B&B's and ate every meal in cafes and pubs along the way. We carried only clothes and snacks making the biking very easy. Listen to our rail trail podcast number 32.
January 07 We have been up in Christchurch, partly for "Secret Project" work and partly for a holiday. On Friday afternoon we went out to Waikuku Beach which is about 45 minutes drive north of Christchurch. We stayed at the camping ground with Rob & Mish and Paul & Amanda plus kids Paddy, George and Monique. We swam at the beach and paddling pool, played at the park, rode the flying fox, ate ice creams, built sand castles, and drank a few beers. We have been using Google Sketch-Up to model the new house. Have a look at these images which give you feel for the style with rammed earth columns, cedar wood, plus a huge deck for indoor/outdoor living. December 06/January 07 Sydney September 06 We've just had the most fantastic relaxing holiday in Sydney staying with Simon and Gillian!! It was so good to catch up with them. We really enjoyed their apartment with million dollar views of the harbour. We also enjoyed exploring the streets, pubs and shops of Balmain. Below are a selection of photo's taken from ferries, wharfs and the apartment balcony. Click each for larger views.
Bay of Islands, NZ July 06 We've been on holiday in the Bay of Islands, an area at the very top of the North Island often called the Winterless North. No snow, frosts, jackets up here. We went sailing, dining out, great hotels and a campervan.

Fiji July 06 We've just got back from a week in Fiji. Needless to say, Fiji is a tropical paradise. This was made all the more special by it being a frosty winter at home. We spent the week swimming, reading, visiting towns, sailing, eating and drinking. We loved meeting both the Indians and Fijians. Below are a few photographs to give you taste of our holiday.

Abel Tasman 05
We've just got back from a road trip, tramping trip and a visiting trip. We drove up to Takaka to visit Will's parents. While there we walked the Abel Tasman Track in the Abel Tasman National Park. Below are some photo's of our tramp along beautiful beaches and bays through forest.
