Here's How it Works

When you go on holiday, you create greenhouse gases by flying.  Therefore you are directly contributing to global warming by flying on an airplane and having a holiday. 

There are many easy ways to balance the effect of your flight.  A good example is The Carbon Neutral Company, a website which allows you to calculate the carbon you have created then offset that carbon by buying credits in projects.  These projects range from forests to future technology companies.  With these schemes, you don't actually get a carbon credit, you get a certificate and the good feeling that you've made a difference.

Here's What We Propose

How about we plant the trees for you!  When you book your flights, go to the Carbon Flight Calculator below and calculate the carbon you'll be using (use the Natural Woodland Portfolio price).  Then go to our PayPal donate page and gift the money to us.  We'll then plant tree's for you to neutralise the carbon from your flights.  We'll even go one step further.  We will give you the option of which sort of tree to plant.  You can choose either Natives or Pines.  We'll plant one tree for every £3 donated.  All calculations are in Pounds Sterling as that is how the calculator works. 

How do you know the trees gets planted?  It's a scheme based on trust, though we will put photo's on this website, and you can even visit your tree's if you wish.

Here's the small print to avoid future confusion. 

This is a scheme for our friends to neutralise their conscience over carbon created on holiday.

We will not be converting these tree's into carbon credits and you can not claim carbon credits off the trees.  We will own all the trees and will retain all rights over the trees.  There is no tax involved in this transaction.  Consider it a charitable donation although we are not registered as a charitable organisation.  We will not accept donations from strangers over 50 pounds.  Please email us before donating large amounts.  When you donate money, you forfeit all rights to the money or trees.

All of the money donated will go to procuring trees.  We may where applicable buy seeds to raise trees.  We have no intension of ever cutting down the trees though can't promise because who knows what the future will bring. 

We will work to fulfill the informal contract as laid out on this web page.  We'll put in every effort to ensure every cent donated ends up neutralising you carbon.
